F2A: How much is the NVC fee? 2 fees and what to do after Paid?

After receiving the NVC Welcome Letter, one of the first steps of the F2A application is to pay the fees displayed on the CEAC.

This is a very important step because payment of fees directly affects the ability to continue processing the application.

Two common fees are:

Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee.

Affidavit of Support Fee.

These two amounts are not the same and are not always calculated the same way.

WHAT IS IMMIGRANT VISA FEE?

Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee is the fee for processing an immigrant visa application.

For family-based applications such as F2A, the current fees are:

325 USD for each immigrant visa applicant.

This means that if the application has many people applying for a visa, the IV fee is calculated according to each person eligible to apply for a visa.

For example:

A profile containing only the principal applicant:

IV Fee = 325 USD.

If there are additional eligible companions:

Each person can incur a separate IV Fee.

WHAT IS AOS FEE?

AOS Fee is Affidavit of Support Fee.

This is a fee associated with the processing of Affidavit of Support in the NVC process.

Unlike IV Fee, AOS Fee is calculated by case.

Current fee:

120 USD for each case must pay AOS Fee.

Therefore, it is not true that for every two or three people applying for a visa, the AOS Fee also multiplies according to the number of people.

F2A USUALLY HAS 2 CHARGES

An F2A profile processed through NVC can typically see:

Affidavit of Support Fee:

120 USD.

Immigrant Visa Fee:

325 USD for each visa applicant.

If there is only one principal applicant and the application requires both payments:

Total fees can be:

120 325 = 445 USD.

If there are many people applying for a visa, the IV Fee will increase according to the number of people.

AOS Fee is still calculated by case.

DO ALL F2A PROFILES CONSEQUENT AOS FEE?

Not all cases are the same.

Some cases are exempt from the Affidavit of Support requirement and do not have to pay AOS Fee.

Therefore, you should not look at an online post and conclude that your profile must definitely be closed.

Please directly check the fee that CEAC displays for the case.

WHO CAN PAY FEES?

People with CEAC credentials can make payments.

It is not necessary for the guarantor to act himself.

It is important that the payer has:

NVC Case Number.

Invoice ID Number.

Bank account information matches system requirements.

CAN I USE A CREDIT CARD TO PAY NVC FEES?

Are not.

NVC does not accept payment by credit card or personal check for these fees.

Payment is made online through CEAC according to the method provided by NVC.

CAN I USE VIETNAM BANK TO PAY FEES?

Not following NVC's usual online payment method.

NVC requires USD payments to be withdrawn from a US bank account.

Therefore, before starting payment, users need to prepare the correct bank account information.

IS IT OK TO CLOSE AOS FEE AND IV FEE AT THE SAME TIME?

The system allows payment of both fees within the same processing period.

However, CEAC requires each transaction to be performed separately.

Do not try to combine two fees into one transaction.

AFTER PAYING THE FEE, WILL I SEE PAID IMMEDIATELY?

Not necessarily.

This is an issue that worries many people.

After making a payment, the status on CEAC may take time to be updated.

So:

Money deducted from account

CEAC must switch to Paid immediately.

WHAT IF THE ACCOUNT HAS BEEN DEDUCTIVE BUT CEAC HAS NOT PAID?

Do not pay back immediately.

This is one of the most dangerous errors.

If the transaction was successfully completed but the CEAC has not updated, save:

Payment date.

Amount.

Transaction information.

Screenshot.

Account information.

Then wait for the system to update.

If the status remains unchanged after the appropriate processing time, you can use the Public Inquiry Form to request NVC assistance.

SHOULD I CLICK PAY NOW MULTIPLE TIMES?

Are not.

If you have completed the transaction, do not continuously click PAY NOW just because CEAC has not updated.
