What is F2A NVC Welcome Letter? What should I do if I do not receive the NVC letter?

What is F2A NVC Welcome Letter?

After the F2A application is approved by USCIS, many people begin to wait for a new notice from the National Visa Center, commonly known as the NVC Welcome Letter.

This is an important milestone because it indicates that the application has been received by NVC to begin the processing phase before the immigrant visa interview.

However, many people often confuse three milestones:

I-130 Approved.

NVC Case Created.

NVC Welcome Letter.

These three milestones are related but are not the same thing.

AFTER USCIS APPROVED, WHERE WILL THE DOCUMENTS GO?

If the F2A application is processed consularly, USCIS will transfer the approved petition to the Department of State for further processing by NVC.

NVC first creates records in its system.

After completing the profile creation step, NVC sends a Welcome Letter by email or paper letter depending on available contact information.

The Welcome Letter provides the information necessary for users to access CEAC and begin case management.

WHAT IS NVC CASE NUMBER?

NVC Case Number is the application code issued by the National Visa Center after NVC receives the petition approved by USCIS and creates the application.

This code is different from the USCIS Receipt Number.

For example:

USCIS Receipt Number:

IOEXxxxxxxxxx

NVC Case Number:

HCM2026xxxxxx

These two codes belong to two different systems and should not be used together.

USCIS Receipt Number is used to track USCIS stages.

NVC Case Number is used during the immigrant visa processing stage at NVC and CEAC.

WHAT IS INVOICE ID NUMBER?

In addition to NVC Case Number, users can also receive Invoice ID Number.

This information is used along with the NVC Case Number for CEAC login.

Therefore, when receiving a Welcome Letter, you should not only save the Case Number.

Please save in full:

NVC Case Number.

Invoice ID Number.

Name of person being guaranteed.

Name of guarantor.

Date of birth of the guaranteed person.

Email to receive notifications.

Welcome Letter.

IS NVC WELCOME LETTER IMPORTANT?

Have.

Welcome Letter is one of the most important notices when the application moves to the NVC stage.

Through the information in the letter, users can continue with steps such as:

Login to CEAC.

Follow profile.

Pay the required fees.

Complete DS-260.

Prepare Affidavit of Support.

Prepare Financial Documents.

Prepare Civil Documents.

Follow announcements from NVC.

Therefore, if users receive a Welcome Letter, they should save it immediately.

WELCOME LETTER NOT RECEIVED IS THE DOCUMENT LOST?

Not necessarily.

Not receiving a Welcome Letter does not mean the file is lost.

There can be many causes:

NVC has not received a petition from USCIS.

NVC has received it but has not yet created a case.

The case has been created but the email has not been notified.

Emails are sent to Spam or Junk.

The email information on profile is incorrect.

Paper mail has not been delivered.

The notification is sent to another person on file.

So don't just check your main mailbox.

WHAT IF I HAVE THE NVC CASE NUMBER BUT HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE WELCOME LETTER?

If the user knows the NVC Case Number but has not received a Welcome Letter, this is a different situation than completely unknown whether the profile has been created by NVC or not.

You should first check:

Primary email.

Spam.

Junk.

Promotions.

Emails from ongoing.

Beneficiary emails.

Attorney's email if the application is represented by an attorney.

Then check CEAC access using the information NVC provided.

CAN I LOG IN TO CEAC WHEN I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE WELCOME LETTER?

Normally users need NVC Case Number and Invoice ID Number to log in to CEAC.

If you don't have this information, don't guess or use another code to log in.

If you have Case Number and Invoice ID but still cannot log in, you need to check each character for accuracy.

A small error in Case Number or Invoice ID can also prevent the system from logging in.

AFTER RECEIVING WELCOME LETTER WHAT NEEDS TO DO?

Don't just save the message and keep waiting.

Should be done in this order:

Step 1:

Read the entire Welcome Letter.

Step 2:

Save NVC Case Number.

Step 3:

Save Invoice ID Number.

Step 4:

Check the current and principal applicant information.
